Imperialism

Policy of expansion and territorial and / or economic domain of one country or people over another. Although there are several cases of imperialist policies, such as that of ancient Rome, in the context of history, it refers to the politics of industrialized countries throughout the 19th century, which resulted mainly in the rule of Africa and Asia. The process of decolonization after World War II marks the end of this event. Some theorists, however, perceive a continuity of imperialism in US government policy, which results in territorial dominance and the expansion of the values of this society.
